ALBAWABA - Katy Perry faces investigation after Ruby Rose allegations.
A police investigation is currently ongoing in Australia following the accusation of sexual assault against Katy Perry by Ruby Rose, the actor who starred in "Batgirl" and "Orange Is the New Black." The pop star has refuted the charges, describing them as "reckless lies."
Victoria Police said in a statement to Variety: "Melbourne sexual offenses and child abuse investigation team (SOCIT) detectives are investigating [an alleged] historical sexual assault that occurred in Melbourne in 2010." According to police, the incident occurred at a licensed establishment in Melbourne's central business district. Any comment at this time would be inappropriate because the investigation is still ongoing.
Ruby Rose made the complaint on Sunday night, writing on Threads that Perry sexually attacked her at a Melbourne bar when they were both in their early twenties. Rose is now 40 years old, while Perry is 41.
"Katy Perry sexually attacked me at the Spice Market Nightclub in Melbourne. "Who cares what she thinks," Rose said in response to a complex story about Perry's reaction to Justin Bieber's Coachella performance.

Perry's representative rejected the report in a statement to Variety. "The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false; they are dangerous, reckless lies," the spokesperson claimed. "Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named."
Katy Perry's representatives did not immediately respond to Variety's request for comment on the police inquiry.
Ruby Rose expounded on her accusation in a subsequent Threads post, stating in response to a fan, "She didn't kiss me." She noticed me "resting" on my best friend's lap to avoid her, so she bent down, pulled her underpants to the side, and rubbed her nasty vagina on my face till my eyes sprang open and I vomited on her."
Though Rose previously stated that she did not intend to file a police report regarding the alleged incident, she confirmed in a Threads post Tuesday night that she had "finalized all of my reports" and would no longer be able to "comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases or the individuals involved."
Rose continued, "It may seem like I'm ignoring everything, including helpful comments and other people's experiences, but I'm not. This is a standard police request, and in many ways, it brings me relief."
