ALBAWABA – Driverless buses and trucks in China are emerging as key players in the technology sector and are anticipated to dominate both the local and international markets.
Chinese driverless vehicles
Citizens in China are excited about the emergence of driverless buses and trucks, viewing them as safe and reliable modes of transportation.
Recently, the country hosted the Qingdao Intelligent Networked New Energy Vehicle Industry Ecological Conference, which highlighted innovations in the battery industry and the development of strategic alliances.
Over 300 participants attended the conference, where they discussed new technologies, innovative models, and the latest applications of driverless vehicle technologies.
Lili Buses
Lili Buses, featuring completely driverless, smart, and compact designs, were showcased at the Qingdao Intelligent Networked New Energy Vehicle Industry Ecological Conference. These buses have already been tested and are roaming the roads of China.
The bus can accommodate up to six passengers, with its exterior fully covered in glass on the front, rear, and both sides. A Lili bus can reach a maximum speed of 45 kilometers per hour.
Notably, the conference showcased around 50 other driverless vehicles, including the Pix Moving driverless minibus, BAIC's new 212, Jishi MPV Wangpai, CRRC's new electric mobile vending car, and models from SAIC-GM-Wuling, FAW Hongqi, Jiefang New Energy, Meijin New Energy, Jiushi, Xinshiqi, Jiqing, Cainiao, and more. These vehicles ranged from trucks and buses to cars, with capacities between 5 and 10 cubic meters.
Batteries of driverless vehicles
What makes Chinese driverless vehicles stand out is the power and durability of their advanced electric batteries.
These newly developed batteries last longer and require less time to charge.
