Nakheel, a leading property developer in the UAE, hosted a delegation of 50 CEOs and Directors from Hong Kong, all of whom are members of the Young Presidents Organisation and are in Dubai for a series of strategic meetings with international and Arab businesses.
The Young Presidents Organisation is a global organisation comprising more than 9,500 young global business leaders from over 75 nations. The organisation provides a forum for its members that connects them internationally and into the hub of business where they can exchange ideas, pursue learning and share strategies to achieve personal and professional growth and success.
The delegation was welcomed by Senior Nakheel management and afterwards the group boarded helicopters on an exclusive flight across Dubai and the waters of the Arabian Gulf to view the incredible 9 kilometres in length by 7 kilometres in width, ‘The World’ development. The group was guided by the Nakheel team throughout the development tour and they provided insight on the project and answered questions about the considerable property portfolio that Nakheel has accumulated in the last three years. From the helicopter the visiting delegation was able to take in the impressive view of this unique development that will eventually cover more than 593 million square feet, and will result in a further 200 kilometres of beach in Dubai.
The delegation was also given a brief presentation on the logistics and planning which created much interest in addition to a preview of what will be developed on a few of the islands.
After the aerial tour of The World, the helicopters touched down at the new Villa Show model at the World, situated in the heart of the 300 island development.
Commenting after the event, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman for Nakheel said, “Hong Kong is by no means new to the idea of the reclamation of land from the sea; in fact the airport is a testament to the exceptional building capabilities of the country. However, we at Nakheel wanted to demonstrate the creativity of the Middle East and Arab culture to fellow members of the Young Presidents Organisation and to showcase the unique projects that we have in the Nakheel portfolio which have generated so much attention the world over”.
