ALBAWABA – Recent leaks suggest that Apple, the American multinational corporation, and technology company, will not release its new AirPods Max 2 in 2025. High prices and declining revenues may be the main reasons behind this decision.

AirPods Max 2 release on hold

Apple fans and customers were impatiently waiting for the release of the new AirPods Max 2 in 2025, as stated previously by the company. However, a recent report and multiple leaks suggest that the company will probably hold back the release.

AirPods Max 2, the over-ear AirPods that were first released in late 2020, are wireless Bluetooth over-ear headphones designed by Apple.

According to tech experts, the decision could be driven by several factors, with high prices and declining revenues being the main contributors.

It is worth noting that Apple previously announced a refresh to its AirPods Max designs by introducing new color options and an additional USB-C charging port.

Mark Gurman, a technology journalist for Bloomberg News focused on reporting on Apple Inc., stated: “The headphones aren’t a hot enough seller to justify pouring money into development, but they’re also not a big enough flop to kill them outright. If you’ve ever been to an upscale gym in Los Angeles or New York, you can see these $550 headphones have a market — even with the high price and outdated technology.”

According to Gurman, the price of the AirPods Max 2 is approximately $549, which is considered too high for the company to justify releasing new versions.
