ALBAWABA - Aybüke Pusat unveils first look from new film.

Turkish actress Aybüke Pusat is taking on one of the biggest challenges of her career with "En Mutlu Günümde" (On My Happiest Day), a new independent feature film that sees her stepping behind the camera as a producer while also leading the cast. As production wraps, the first official images from the film have been released, offering audiences their first look at the psychological drama before it begins its international festival journey.

The project marks the first time Pusat has served as both lead actress and producer, making it an important milestone in her career. Known for her performances in television hits such as Söz, Her Yerde Sen, 50M2, Hayat Bugün, and Teşkilat, the actress has now expanded her role within the industry by helping bring the film to life from its earliest stages.

The screenplay was written by Erkan Tunç, who also developed the project creatively, while directing duties were handled by Ahmet Bayer. Filming was completed in Istanbul over a four-week production schedule.

In the film, Aybüke Pusat portrays Nesrin, while Halil Babür stars opposite her as Ercan. The supporting cast includes Reha Özcan as Kerem, Elit Andaç Çam as Ahsen, Erşan Utku Ölmez as Mevlüt, Arın Kuşaksızoğlu as Lokman, Ebru Aytürk as Rukiye, and child actress Beren Tunç, who also plays an important role in the story.

According to information shared by the production team, "En Mutlu Günümde" explores themes of faith, obedience, silence, love, and betrayal, asking how far individuals can be pushed by unquestioned loyalty and social pressure.

The story centers on Ercan and Nesrin, two strangers whose marriage is arranged within the structure of a tightly controlled religious community. Having entered the marriage without ever truly knowing one another, they gradually begin to develop an emotional connection while living together under the same roof.

As their relationship deepens, hidden truths slowly emerge. Ercan has built his life around unquestioning faith and obedience, while Nesrin quietly carries emotional wounds that remain concealed beneath her silence. As the story unfolds, both characters realize they have become trapped within the same carefully constructed deception, forcing them to confront difficult questions about identity, belief, freedom, and trust.

Speaking about the project, Aybüke Pusat described the role of Nesrin as one of the most challenging and rewarding performances of her career. She said portraying a character so different from those she has previously played was an exciting experience and added that she was especially pleased to share the leading roles with Halil Babür, whose performance she praised during production.

Rather than heading directly to commercial release, the filmmakers have chosen to premiere "En Mutlu Günümde" on the international festival circuit. The production team plans to submit the film to festivals before announcing wider distribution plans, a strategy often used for independent Turkish dramas seeking international recognition.

The newly released production stills have already generated interest among Turkish cinema fans, who have praised the film's restrained visual style and the chemistry between Aybüke Pusat and Halil Babür. With its socially driven narrative, experienced cast, and festival ambitions, "En Mutlu Günümde" is shaping up to be one of the notable independent Turkish film projects to watch in the coming months.
