UAE’s consumer electronics industry to reach AED14.69 billion by 2015

Computer hardware sales along with consumer electronics forecasts are on an upward trend in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Research reports suggest that sales for notebooks and accessories are forecast at over AED6.61 billion (US$1.8 billion) for in 2011with a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8 percent from 2011-15. Subsequently, the consumer electronics devices market for mobile handsets, video, audio and gaming products is projected at AED11.4 billion (US$3.1 billion) in 2011, expected to increase to AED14.69billion (US$4.0 billion) by 2015 (Source: Business Monitor International – United Arab Emirates Informational Technology 2011 Q2 Report).
This will be driven by the popularity of innovative mobile handsets, smart phones, feature-rich notebooks, tablets and MP3/MP4 players among others.
