Morocco became the first Arab team to win a match in the current 2026 FIFA World Cup, beating Scotland 1-0 today at Gillette Stadium in the second round of the group stage.
The Atlas Lions fully deserved the three points against Scotland. They were the better team across all stats and now sit at the top of Group C with 4 points.

Morocco opened the scoring right from the start. Ismael Saibari found the net in the second minute, scoring from inside the box after a great assist from Brahim Diaz.
The first half ended with Morocco in the lead, and they managed to hold on to it throughout the second half until the final whistle. With this win, it is safe to say that the Moroccan team has almost joined the list of teams qualifying for the Round of 32.
