STC supports and sponsors "Prophets Companion Caravan" to serve young orphans

STC continues supporting creative concepts in social responsibility and community services while at the same time availing its technological solutions that provide an innovative approach to CSR. Extending its efforts in this field, and as part of its efforts to support various educational and applied research projects, STC connected with a research project for higher education run by a group of female graduate students from King Saud University and by using new media channels (Twitter, Face Book) and designing them using an interactive approach allowing many people to participate and provide their input, the “Prophet’s Companion” Caravan for young orphans, sponsored and supported by STC, was launched last Wednesday to Al Madinah Al Munawarrah a field trip for Ensan Charity Committee for Orphan’s Care covering Madinah, Makkah and Jeddah.
On this occasion, Eng. Nawaf Al Shalani, General Manager of Corporate Communication at STC said “STC continues its journey to innovate new and advanced channels to support and sponsor activities that meet the technological development that our country is living today while at the same time providing it with both the efficiency and professionalism of STC. In the same way we have succeeded in Al Wafa diverse programs such as building a Healthcare Center across various villages and towns across the Kingdom and Al Wafa Educational Program and other important social activities introduced to the citizen and country, and continuing to adopt many creative concepts in the field of volunteering such as the Riyadh Twestival 2011 that sponsors orphans, we continue the journey by sponsoring the “Prophets Companion” Caravan which meets with the spirit of the times, where STC is availing its experience and investment in providing a creative program that matches the importance of the Caravan and its role and its educational and cultural impact on the participants and organizers. STC’s support to such programs is part and parcel of its ethos as this Caravan is considered a big support to students conducting scientific research, and at the same time it is an opportunity to bring joy to the participants in this Caravan and enjoy the summer break with targeted and beneficial programs. This activity reaffirms STC’s role as a pioneer in supporting various social, charitable, and educational programs that serve the various segments of the society.”
Al Shalani added the “Prophets Companion” that will last for 21 days includes various activities and programs that includes visiting the Prophets Mosque, performing Umrah and visiting various mosques and important religious sites in Madinah, Makkah, an Jeddah to get acquainted wit the rich historical and Islamic culture and its impact on the youth, in addition to to the various social, cultural, and sports activities and visits by key scholars, celebrities who are scheduled to visit the Caravan and participate in the various programs.
In conclusion, Nawaf Al Shalani expressed his appreciation to Ensan for its support in making this program a success, a program that aims at educating the participants the various virtues of the Prophet PBUH such as cooperation, patience, compassion, and modesty, altruism, courage, honesty and others while providing them with skills on how to deal behave in their daily life the same way the Prophet PBUH did.
