Algeria gave themselves the best chance to go second in the group with their victory over South Korea in their last match and now only have to secure a draw against Russia to make it through, that is unless South Korea crushes Blegium by four goals or more.
That being said, that is not something that is believed to be on the cards and in all cases an Algeria draw or victory see's them advance.
However, Russia also hold their own destiny in their hands as a victory over Algeria will see them head to the knockout stages and into the knockout stages for the first time in their national history as Russia and not the Soviet Union, whom last were in the round of 16 in 1986.
The Russian look the stronger on paper and should have the best chance of taking all three points from the match, but Algeria can play a tough defensive and counter attack minded style and will be a difficult opponent to break down.
