Saudi Pro League recruitment chief Michael Emenalo has invited Lionel Messi to come to the Middle East.

The Argentine legend opted to wear the Inter Miami shirt last summer, despite receiving a lucrative offer from Al-Hilal.

Emenalo has reiterated the Saudis' desire to bring the 36-year-old to the SPL.

Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo already made the move to Al-Nassr at the beginning of 2023, and Emenalo hopes to see Messi playing in the league as well.

He spoke to Sky Sports and said the following: "If two of the best players of recent decades met again there would be an incredible amount of excitement.

"It would be fun for the fans, we can't wait to try it. If Messi wants to try a new championship, we certainly have a club ready to welcome him and let him express all his abilities.

"If he wants to come here, the possibility is there, we would work hard to find him a club."
