Talks over a potential takeover of Newcastle by the Saudi Arabia sovereign wealth fund are at an "advanced" stage, according to BBC Sport.
If completed, the takeover is expected to cost some £340 million ($444m).
It is reported negotiations between current owner Mike Ashley and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) have been ongoing for several months.
