The Kuwait Football Association (KFA) chief and board members tendered their resignations on Thursday during a visit by Asian and international officials aimed at forming a "settlement committee" in response to a KFA request.

The AFC and FIFA formed the committee after KFA requested to "shield its legality," Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, the KFA president told KUNA.

The move was made after local sports clubs met to exchange viewpoints, he added.

The committee includes Meshal Al-Rabea as president, and Ali Merwi, Musaed Ajeel, Marzouq Al-Ajmi and Khalid Al-Jarallah as members.

The newly-formed taskforce will assume its duties in amending football laws in the country and preparing for new board elections as of today, he said.
