Egypt winger Mohamed Salah continued his recent fine form in Italy’s Serie A after scoring two goals, including one from an impossible angle, to help AS Roma thrash Palermo 5-0 on Sunday.
The Pharaohs star, who could not find the net in Wednesday's 2-0 loss at home to Real Madrid in the Champions League, scored twice in the space of two second-half minutes to take his tally to nine league goals this season.
He put Roma 3-0 up on the hour mark when he escaped his marker to run onto a through pass from Bosnian striker Eden Dzeko before hitting a powerful shot into the far corner of the net from inside the area.
On 62 minutes, Salah notched his second of the net in superb fashion. He somewhat mis-controlled a long ball from Radja Nainggolan inside the area but he regained possession after the ball struck the keeper, sending a simple shot home from an acute angle.
The 23-year-old joined Roma from English champions Chelsea last summer after spending the second half of last season on loan at Fiorentina, where he produced superb displays.
Salah ended a seven-match goal drought in the Serie A when he scored an early goal to set Roma on their way to a 2-0 victory over Sassuolo early this month.
He continued to recapture his best form in the Serie A game against Carpi last week; scoring a goal and creating two others.
Salah has scored one Champions League goal so far this season.
Roma lie fourth in the league table with 50 points, eight behind leaders Juventus.
