Jospeh Blatter was back at FIFA headquarters Tuesday to appeal against his eight-year ban from all football-related activity.

The outgoing FIFA president is presenting his case to the appeals committee of football's governing body.

His appeal comes a day after UEFA president Michel Platini was at the Zurich headquarters of FIFA to appeal against his eight-year ban.

It is though verdicts could be made later this week.

Blatter, 79, and Platini, 60, were banned in a ruling by the adjudicatory chamber of FIFA's ethics committee on December 21 over ethics breaches concerning a "disloyal payment" of 2 million Swiss francs (about 2 million dollars) made to Platini in 2011.

The hearings come just over a week before FIFA is due to elect a new president in Zurich on February 26.
