Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has highlighted the importance of Jamal Musiala.

The German international's deal is set to expire in 2026 amid links with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.

Hainer said, as quoted by Tribal Football: "We love Jamal Musiala, and it is clear that he is the kind of player who appears once in a century.

"It is clear that our main task is to extend his contract and keep him at Bayern for a long time."

The 21-year-old scored 46 goals and provided 34 assists in 169 games across all competitions.

He helped the Bavarian giants win the Champions League in 2020, and the Bundesliga four times among other titles.
