Published October 20th, 2020 - 05:32 GMT

Each year World Press Photo showcases the most important images and visual stories selected by an independent jury.  These pictures are judged in terms of their accurate, fair, and visually compelling insights about our world.

World Press Photo event is a celebration of the best photojournalism each year.

The World Press Photo Foundation seeks to develop and promote visual journalism. One of the most prestigious awards in photojournalism exhibition is seeing by more than three and a half million people worldwide.

The Foundation believes in the power of showing and the importance of seeing high-quality visual stories.

It all began in 1955 when a group of Dutch photographers organized an international contest (“World Press Photo”) to expose their work to a global audience. The World Press Photo Foundation has been working from its home in Amsterdam as an independent, nonprofit organization.

Lastly WPP is sharing a selection of images from different projects by Fabio Bucciarelli. As we can read on his official website he is an award-winning photojournalist and author known for his documentation of conflicts and humanitarian consequences of war.
Bucciarelli spent the last decade covering the major world-changing events in the Middle East, in Africa, and in Europe.
