The traditional Laza Carnival - Carnaval de Laza, is an annual festival that takes place in the town of Laza (Orense), days before Ash Wednesday.

The celebrations usually starts Friday night before Ash Wednesday with the tour through the streets. On Sunday morning, people dress as "peliqueiros" which is the main character of the Laza Carnival.

The farrapada event takes place on Monday morning, a picturesque battle, in which mud-stained rags are used as if they were weapons.
