'Not Before 18': 100s Protest Against Child Marriages in Beirut

Hundreds in Beirut rallied, Saturday March 2, 2019  in face of child marriages, calling authorities to ban unions below the age of 18. In Lebanon some faiths allow girls to be wed at 14.

The demonstration was organized by civil society groups and the rally attracted women of all ages, as well as some lawmakers, who marched on parliament in  Beirut.

Moreover, some protesters held slogans reading “Not before 18” and “Stop early marriage.”
