ALBAWABA - A 21-year-old woman recently lost her life in a tragic bungee jumping accident when staff forgot to attach a safety rope to her waist and launched her off a 40-meter bridge in São Paulo’s Limeira, Brazil.
A video of the accident flooded social media, capturing the moment staff carried the woman and launched her off the bridge without noticing the essential safety rope was still on the ground.
Local media later identified the woman as 21-year-old Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas.

According to Democrata, citing local military police, the woman participated in the activity in question, which a private company organized. In response, six people were arrested for their alleged involvement in the accident. Some of those who were arrested reportedly fled the scene before being detained, as reported by Rpido no Ar.
Several reports indicate that the incident occurred on the Ponte do Esqueleto (Skeleton Bridge), an abandoned structure built to connect Limeira and Cordeirópolis. The abandoned bridge has become a staple among thrill seekers in Brazil.
A local news account claimed that Maria's fiancé, who was also at the event, required immediate medical treatment after hearing news of her death.
