Published February 20th, 2022 - 11:11 GMT

Anti-war protesters have taken to the streets in different places of the globe to oppose the possible war between Russia and Ukraine amid fears of a new world war.

Ukrainians, German, and Americans have demonstrated carrying banners reading: "No war with Russia," "What we need is love," "Diplomacy is the only Way."

According to sources, a group of antiwar, environmental, free speech, human rights and veterans groups had joined the protests with the aim to stop US/NATO war with Russia in Ukraine.

Tensions between Russia and Ukraine rose following Kiyv's plea to join NATO despite Moscow's disagreement and warnings. Russia had been sending thousands of troops toward the Ukrainian border.

Lately, President Putin denied any possible war and announced the end of the military exercises near the border with Ukraine; The Russian government also said to withdraw troops and send them back to their bases.
