RAK Ceramics extends support to environmental awareness campaign in Abu Dhabi

RAK Ceramics, the world's largest ceramic tiles & bathware manufacturing company, has announced that it recently joined other corporate entities in the UAE to support ‘Our Tomorrow’ - an environmental awareness campaign in Abu Dhabi that targeted children. The initiative required each child involved in the project; from across the country, to paint their version of a greener Abu Dhabi on ceramic tiles, which was later assembled as a mural. In line with its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts, RAK Ceramics donated around 15,000 pieces of 15x15 tiles, out of which more than 6,000 tiles were used by children to be painted on.
“Generating sufficient environmental awareness at the grassroots level is highly essential in creating a far-reaching impact in our collective efforts to protect the natural environment. At RAK Ceramics, environment conservation forms an integral part of our broader CSR agenda, and supporting the ‘Our Tomorrow’ initiative was in line with this plan,” said Abdulla Mahmood, Head- MARCOM, RAK Ceramics.
RAK Ceramics is a USD 1 billion global conglomerate in the ceramic industry, offering a product portfolio comprising over 8,000 designs in ceramic tiles, Gres Porcellanato, and several models in bathware. The company has also been recently conferred the CSR ‘Company of the Year 2011’ award and ‘SuperBrand 2010’ award and continues to be a global pioneer in the world of ceramics through innovative products such as the RAKSLIM, a new green-building brand of 4.5-millimetre thick tile that sets new industry benchmarks in thickness, strength, cost and ease of use. RAK Ceramics is also founding member of Emirates Green Building Council, which supports the development of sustainable buildings in UAE.
