Participate in over 100 activities this weekend at Dubai's Community Event Better U 2011

With the mercury rising to sweltering levels, residents can stay out of the blazing heat by spending their weekend at Better U 2011 – Dubai’s biggest free indoor community event. Hosted by Eton Institute, a language and training centre based in Dubai Knowledge Village, this event will feature over a 100 free activities ranging from yoga and fashion design to language lessons and martial arts. With an expected turnout of over 2500 visitors, this third-annual non-profit event aims to promote holistic development – Mind, Body & Soul.

Over 40 leading organisations including DEWA, Gulf Photo Plus, Hayya!, Holistic Institute, Social Circles UAE, Pizza Express, Zen Yoga and Eton Institute, will be offering their products or services for free on the day to the visitors. Packed with fun experiences, live performances, prizes and free giveaways, Better U is an opportunity for both adults and children to stimulate their mind, energize their body, and inspire their soul.

A regular participant at Better U, Insiya commented: “I am getting Better...2009, 2010 & now 2011! Can't wait!” and another resident added, “Saturday 28 May, I have a date with Eton. The only full day date my Mom allows me to go to!”

Better U 2011 will feature a range of free activities for all ages supported by participating organisations. Free crèche facility will also be available for parents who wish to participate in activities while their children learn and play under the supervision of qualified professionals. 

Additionally, visitors will get a chance to support a number of the UAE’s non-profit organisations at the event, from enjoying traditional Arabic coffee courtesy of the Sheikh Mohammed Center for Cultural Understanding to giving an abandoned animal a second chance by adopting from the Dubai Animal Rescue Center. Other non-profits that will be raising awareness for their causes include Al Noor Training Center for Children with Special Needs, Adopt a Labourer, Manzil Special Needs School and the Maria Christina Foundation.

Better U 2011 will be held on Saturday, 28th May, from 10 AM to 5 PM at Dubai Knowledge Village, Block 3. This community event is absolutely free to attend and will be open to all members of the public.
