ALBAWABA - Syrians mourned yesterday vocalist and activist Qasim Al-Jamous in a tragic accident on the Bloudan-Al-Dimas road.
Two hours before his death, the Syrian activist questioned via his social media accounts, about the duration of the road from the Bloudan Mountains to the southern suburb.
Many Syrian activists and prominent figures expressed condolences over the death of Qasim Al-Jamous, who was very familiar, especially in Daraa province.
Who is Qasim Al-Jamous (Abu Watan)?
Qasim Al-Jamous, commonly known as Abu Watan, is originally from the city of Dael in Daraa Governorate. He was one of the most prominent revolutionary voices that inflamed the Syrian street with chants and songs inciting demonstrations against the former Syrian regime led by Bashar Assad.
Qasim Al-Jamous also had a major role in the popular movement since the outbreak of the Syrian revolution in 2011, leading the protests with his loud voice.
When the former Syrian regime took control of Daraa, Qasim Al-Jamous moved to Idlib, where he continued his revolutionary activities and participated in demonstrations alongside the late activist and vocalist Abdul Baset al-Sarout, whose passing left a deep wound in activists' hearts.
Since then, he devoted his voice to conveying the suffering of Syrians via songs and demonstrations, and he remained present in the conscience of the revolution until his death.
