ALBAWABA - Activists and pro-Palestinians have wondered about the reason behind the absence of Abu Obaida, the spokesperson for the al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

Pro-Palestine took to social media to express their feelings about the absence of Abu Obaida using the Hashtag #اين_ابو_عبيده (which means #WhereisAbuObaida). Many said they miss Hamas' masked man who usually appears in tapped videos to detail the latest updates on the war in Gaza.

Activists said that Abu Obaida's speeches always convey reassurance and confidence in the solidity of the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip, and its continuation of destroying the strongholds of the Israeli occupation and defeating it.

A social media user said: "We miss you, Abu Ubaida. We miss your thundering voice which shakes the hearts of criminals."

According to sources, the latest speech made by Hamas spokesperson Abu Obaida was about 15 days ago, on the forty-eighth day of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel on Nov. 23, 2023.

Abu Obaida confirmed in the last appearance the complete or partial destruction of more than 160 Israeli military vehicles since the start of the ground aggression on the Gaza Strip, and the destruction of 25 Israeli vehicles during the two days that preceded the speech.

However, Abu Obaida shared on his Telegram channel on Dec. 4 that Al-Qassam Brigades were able to completely or partially destroy 28 Israeli military vehicles in the past 24 hours amid continuous battles across Gaza.
