ALBAWABA - In a post on his official account on X, formerly known as Twitter, the head of the Arab media division of the IDF Spokesperson's Unit Avichay Adraee posted a tweet claiming to reveal the identity of the spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obaida!
Over the years, Abu Obaida managed to keep a low profile and has always had his actual identity hidden from everyone, probably even from his own family. Abu Obaida has always been deemed as a source of great threat to Israel as he is considered one of the highest-ranked men in Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.
Earlier today, Adraee posted on X saying that he will be posting a shocking reveal, "In a little while we will publish something that the so-called Abu Obaida is trying to hide".
Later on, Adraee took to X and posted a video showing a man allegedly named Huthaifa Kahlout. Adraee claimed that this man is also Al-Qassam official Abo Obaida.
"This is the so-called Huthaifa Kahlout, who hides behind the nickname Abu Ubaida, and he also hides behind his red keffiyeh. Just as Hamas hides behind civilian facilities to launch rockets toward Israel" Adraee said in his post.
A number of replies to Adraee's post mocked Israel's attempts to reveal Al-Qassam official identity, as it is known that over the years numerous attempts failed as it has been refuted every time, assuring people that his identity will always remain anonymous.
No official confirmation from Al-Qassam has been released. Over the years, no one has been able to identify Abu Obaida, or confirm the mere thought of meeting the man in person.
