ALBAWABA - Since the start of the pager and walkie-talkie devices' blasts across Lebanon and some places in Syria on Sept. 17, many posted horrifying videos showing moments the devices exploded.

Several videos circulated online and documented harsh moments in markets and shops, showing devices exploding in people's pockets and hands.

At least 32 people were killed in Lebanon and more than 3,000 others were injured in the explosion which Israel's Mossad and army planned together, according to Israeli media.

What's the truth behind iPhone devices' explosion in Lebanon?

Video and footage were shared on social media claiming that some iPhone devices also exploded along with pager and walkie-talkie blasts.

Nonetheless, a photo allegedly showing an "iPhone that exploded as part of a series of explosions targeting telecommunications equipment in Lebanon" on Wednesday was also linked to Israeli attacks.

The photo displayed a damaged iPhone and was shared by many accounts online with the caption: "American iPhones also exploded."

However, the truth is that the picture is a very old one and dates back to March 19, 2021, when an iPhone exploded, causing a fire and breaking a child's arm in Maadi, south of Cairo, according to what was circulated.

In addition, the phone exploded after being placed in the charger and the reason was not revealed.

Furthermore, the videos circulating online allegedly showing iPhone devices exploding following the Israel attack are likely false and baseless as no official source reported any error in the iPhone phones.
