ALBAWABA - Videos flooding social media captured an unidentified orange object in the skies of Los Angeles and Dallas, with many internet users claiming it's a meteor sighting.

The viral clips sparked debate and speculation among social media users, with some conspiracy theorists arguing that it's proof of alien life.

An individual who filmed the rare sighting in Los Angeles, California, first thought that the unidentified object was a rocket. However, a friend responded during the clip that it could be a SpaceX launch.

Journalist Dom Lucre wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "What appears to be yet another fireball was spotted in the skies of Los Angeles California, this would be the 6th ‘meteor’ sighting this week."

Another added, "Unidentified object captured in the sky near Dallas appears to explode or burn up before reaching the ground."

Speculations about a possible rocket sighting stem from the ongoing US-Israeli war with Iran.

Israel and the U.S. launched joint attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, killing over 1,200 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and more than 150 children, in a strike on a girls' elementary school in Minab, in southern Hormozgan province.

In response, Tehran launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries, which it says are targeting "U.S. military assets."
