ALBAWABA - It seems like Crocodiles in Indonesia have developed a new hunting strategy to lure in their prey after a video showcased one fake drowning in the water to catch people's attention, sparking debate and speculations about the authenticity of the clip.

Moreover, the clip in question showcased a barely visible crocodile raising its arms out of the after like a synchronized swimmer to imitate a person drowning. Social media users on Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter) expressed their opinions through humorous discussions about how a human could fall for such an act.

"This 10-second clip helped me decide never to visit Indonesia."

"Ok, can someone please provide PROOF of at least ONE case where a crocodile lured a human into the water like this… something tells me that’s not what they’re doing, but I could be wrong."

Hillarious comments aside, while pretending to drown to lure in prey might be a stretch, crocodiles have proven to have some intelligence through other clever hunting tactics.

According to the Economic Times, some crocodiles would place a stick on their head to lure in birds for lunchtime during their search for nesting locations.

On the contrary, despite fake drowning being a stretch, tourists visiting Indonesia should be careful of the cunning predator since the reptile should not be underestimated, especially while swimming.
