ALBAWABA - A clip circulated on social media showing Ukrainian child soldiers inside a bus triggered mixed reactions among netizens.

The video has generated many concerns among human rights activists who questioned children's rights and the fact that human rights "law put 18 as the minimum legal age for recruitment and use of children in hostilities."

In addition, the United Nations reported that "recruiting and using children under the age of 15 as soldiers is prohibited under international humanitarian law – treaty and custom – and is defined as a war crime by the International Criminal Court."

Ukrainian child soldiers video drags mixed reactions

The clip widely circulating online shows a bus full of young Ukrainian child soldiers wearing army uniforms with the Ukraine flag on their arms.

However, according to some social media users, the video shows young Ukrainians wearing military uniforms with claims that children are being sent to the frontlines to fight against Russia amid the over two years of war, is wrong.

A person posted a correction on X (formerly Twitter) confirming that the Ukrainian children were not soldiers but students.

A post reads: "The information shared by some accounts on social media that 'Ukrainian child soldiers are being sent to the front' doesn't reflect the truth. The individuals seen in the video are students of the Ivan Bohun Military High School."
