ALBAWABA - British News outlet, The Guardian just took to its official X account (Formerly known as Twitter) and announced that it will no longer be posting on Musk's social media platform due to "negatives outweighing the positives".

The Guardian will stop posting on Musk's X
Part of the reason included the platform allowing the sharing of "far-right conspiracy theories and racism" posts. It also mentioned how long the news outlet waited to carry on with the decision in question.
The article in question also brought up X's current owner Elon Musk and the recent 2024 US Presidential Elections, claiming further that the platform in question is toxic and was used by its CEO to "shape political discourse".
The Guardian further shared that it doesn't need X for engagement since the outlet doesn't rely on viral trends but their direct readers who are subscribed to its newsletter.
The news outlet further shared that it will not stop its editors from using the platform for research purposes. Many users on X took to the post's comment sections to debate the matter in question. Here's what they had to say:
"My God, you lot are absolutely pathetic. Bye-bye!!"
"No need to announce your exit. Just leave."
"The Guardian has almost 11 million followers on this platform, so it's obviously not *that* far-right. The sad reality is you're throwing a tantrum because you didn't get your way in the U.S. election, and you can't stand the fact that people you disagree with can exist here."
