ALBAWABA - Amid the ongoing security operation that is taking place in Syria's coastal area, a security man belonging to the new government in Syria posted a video confirming the mass killing of civilians, who belong to the Alawite sect.
Syrian security man disappears after documenting horrific killings of Alawites:
Mohammed Hajji Abu Obeida, who believed to wear a Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham badge, appeared in a video on social media speaking about the violation that also took place against Alawites in the past few days.
Abu Obeida started the clip by introducing himself, then he said he wanted to speak about the violations that happened in the past two days in Baniyas, Jableh and other places. He said: "I want to send a message for Abu Mohammed al-Golani (Ahmed al-Sharaa) and all military leaders. Sheikh, did our religion ask us to kill all the innocent civilians, who were sitting in their homes? Forcing civilians out of their homes and killing them in cold-blooded crimes."
He maintained: "We didn't do a revolution for that, we didn't carry guns to do those horrible acts; killing innocents and burning their houses and markets. We protested and fought because we were oppressed [by old regime]." "Are innocent Alawites, who are being dragged and killed, remnants of the former regime?"
Mohammed Hajji Abu Obeida said that he was shocked by the videos he saw online following the end of the operation, noting that most of those crimes were committed by members of either Hamza Division or the “Sultan Suleiman Shah Division,” also known as the "al-Amshat" militia.
He also stressed that the security forces in Syria were very careful not to harm any civilians, while clashing with remnants of the former regime.
What happened to Mohammed Hajji Abu Obeida?
The brother of the fighter, Mohammed Hajji, said that his brother went "missing" hours after the shocking video, and then his uncle came out with another post accusing "Assad remnants" of kidnapping him.
However, many others suspected his brother's narrative saying it could be a mere attempt to contain the situation after his shocking testimony accusing two prominent factions of "killing and stealing from civilians from the Alawite sect."
On the other hand, some claimed he was kidnapped by pro-Assad members and was forced to say what he said in the viral video on his Instagram story.
Clashes erupted first in the city of Latakia, then expanded to reach other cities in the country's coastal area between members of the General Security and groups described as remnants of the former regime and ousted president Bashar Assad amid escalating tensions in the region.
