ALBAWABA - Sara Netanyahu, wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accused senior military officers of organizing a coup against her husband. This accusation surfaced last week in a secret meeting with imprisoned families.
Sara Netanyahu has often accused the Israeli military of trying to topple the Prime Minister, according to Haaretz. After talking to families of Gaza prisoners, this claim was made.
Some family members in the conference rebuked Sara Netanyahu, saying the military's actions affected their imprisoned children's life. Despite criticism, Sara Netanyahu maintained her charges, saying she only distrusted the military's highest rank.
Netanyahu's spokeswoman called the disclosures "a vile injustice" and the media coverage inaccurate, prejudiced, and unrelenting.
Many military leaders attended the conference, which drew harsh responses. Sara Netanyahu said, "Instead of focusing on saving lives, Netanyahu is spreading imaginary conspiracies and inciting division." Einav Zangauker, whose son is in Gaza, chastised her. As long as Netanyahu was in government, Zangauker said a prisoner swap arrangement was impossible.
