A video was shared online showing red dust covering one of the Libyan cities as people were seen outside with some linking the red-covered sky with storm Daniel.
Many netizens commented praying to God to protect people in Libya as at least 150 were announced killed in the Derna District in northern Libya by storm Daniel.
Storm Daniel is affecting multiple cities in Libya including Benghazi, Al-Marj, and Derna.
Videos and photos were shared online showing streets and cars submerged with water due to floods caused by the storm Daniel.
The storm advanced into the area starting with Benghazi City, where its Municipal Council announced a two-day curfew beginning at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 9, and lasting until Monday, September 10.
Libyan Interim Prime Minister and Head of Government of National Unity in Tripoli Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, "I directed all state agencies, ministries and institutions; To deal immediately and quickly with the torrents resulting from the disaster that is passing through the cities of our beloved east. We will dedicate our efforts to protect, relieve our people, and mitigate the damage caused by these torrents and rains".
