ALBAWABA - Egypt recently witnessed a strange phenomenon at Jabal Mousa after several locals spotted a weird red cloud floating on top of the mountain. The rare occurrence was described as the first of its kind in the country.
The mysterious red cloud that appeared in Sinai's Saint Catherine sparked widespread speculation and debate after photos of it swarmed several social media platforms. According to RT, the event which occurred at dawn only lasted several minutes before disappearing.

Residents and photographers said that the cloud "appeared to glow in the dawn sky, making it appear unusual compared to traditional weather phenomena.
Another local described the rare event as, "something we have never seen before in this area, even with the many natural phenomena that occur here."
By the time of reporting, scientists including Egypt's Meteorological Authority and the National Research Institute of Astronomy have yet to issue a statement explaining the event in question. On the contrary, several astronomers on social media explained that it could have been a red light from the twilight before sunrise that reflected on the cloud giving it the rare color.
With nothing confirmed yet, several social media users urged Egyptian officials to release a statement explaining the reason behind the occurrence.
