ALBAWABA - Thousands and thousands of people worldwide took to social media platforms including Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) to call for a worldwide general strike for the people of Gaza while also demanding a ceasefire.
The general strike will take action on Monday as people are trying to reach others worldwide to join it under the hashtag, #StrikeForGaza which is currently trending on X with more than 80 thousand posts and millions of interactions.
This whole strike came into existence after the USA vetoed the ceasefire in Gaza causing worldwide anger because of the constant Israeli aggression on Gaza which has already killed more than 17,000 people and hasn't stopped till now.

People on social media urged others not to buy anything whether it be cash or card, not to use their bank accounts, not to leave their houses, to deactivate Facebook/ Instagram, and to spread awareness through the hashtag mentioned above.
This does not come as a surprise since many people took to the streets in protest of what's been happening in Gaza and Palestine in general even before October 7 including London, United Kingdom which witnessed hundreds of thousands of protestors for Gaza saying “Ceasefire now”, “End genocide” and the popular Palestinian slogan: “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
