Palestinian girl Beirut, born on Aug. 4, 2020, dies in Israeli attacks

ALBAWABA - A Palestinian girl, named Beirut, was killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, social media users reported.

According to activists, the Palestinian girl was named Beirut for being born on the same day of the Beirut port blast three years ago, in which at least 218 were killed and 7,000 others were injured.

Palestinian girl Beirut was born on Aug. 4, 2020, but she was killed in the latest Israel-Gaza war which started on Oct. 7.

Elie Merheb posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Beirut is the name of a Palestinian girl born on August 4, 2020. Her family named her after the capital that exploded, "Beirut". Today, 3 years later Beirut was martyred in Palestine due to the bombing."

The Government Media Office in Gaza said on Sunday that over 10,000 people were reported killed and missing in the 23-day attacks by Israeli forces on the Gaza Strip.
