ALBAWABA - A clip went viral claiming that it was taken in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv showing a huge fire due to heavy bombardment.

In the clip, which circulated on social media, multiple warplanes were heard passing and attacking multiple sites causing massive fire and smoke.

According to many social media accounts, the video shows Kyiv being attacked heavily following the Moscow attack during which gunmen broke into Crocus City Hall and opened fire killing 154 people.

Many posted the clip saying it was to revenge after they accused Ukraine of being behind the attack which took place on Friday, March 22 leaving scores injured. ISIS announced the responsibility for the Moscow attack and released footage of its militants during the shooting.

Activists on social media revealed that the video said to be taken in Kyiv is "wrong" and leads to "misinformation," adding that the clip was taken from "Operation Sock and Awe" in Baghdad during the US war in Iraq.

A person wrote: "Many pro-Russian troll/bots are posting this video claiming that it is Kyiv.
It is footage from Operation Shock and Awe:
Iraq Baghdad, 2003."
