ALBAWABA - With the release of 63,000 pages of the long-awaited "top secret" JFK files after orders from US President Donald Trump, new claims from social media users recently swarmed the internet stating that the CIA has reportedly requested redacting any mention of "Israel" in the documents.
The speculations in question garnered millions of views and thousands of likes on social media as users took to several platforms to debate the authenticity of the claims. A user on X (formerly known as Twitter) wrote, "Israel is literally the ONLY thing they’re requesting to be redacted."
Another added in response, "Please, you’re gonna want to research this a bit more. For example, look at nearly EVERY document in the JFK dump and you’ll notice they bracket each location to denote redactions."
Take in mind that many of the files still lack proper annotations and factual content from credible sources.
JFK files: Did the CIA request 'Israel' to be removed?
The JFK files dating back from 1954 to 1967 were stamped with, "CIA has no objection to declassification and/or release of CIA information in this document."
However, written after the stamp was, "Except Brackets Lee 8-7-98" with several launching an investigation on the internet and highlighting every moment that Israel is mentioned in the documents.
The documents also mention James Jesus Angleton, a former CIA agent who "almost singlehandedly" ran the "Israeli account" at the federal agency until 1974 with close ties to the Mossad, according to the CIA's official government website. He passed away due to suffering from cancer at the age of 69.
John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 during his visit to Dallas, Texas. According to AP, more than 63,000 out of 80,000 of the files in question were released on orders from current US President Donald Trump.
According to Financial Express, the newly released files have allegedly shed light on several important figures including Gary Underhill who claimed that a "small clique" in the CIA had a hand in Kennedy's assassination. It also includes nightclub owner Jack Ruby who was responsible for killing assassin Lee Harvey Oswald.
The documents further state that "Less than six months later Underhill was found shot to death in his Washington apartment. The coroner ruled it suicide."
