ALBAWABA - Resurfaced declassified files from 1994 recently swarmed social media showcasing the late JFK Jr. (John F. Kennedy Jr.) allegedly describing senator at the time Joe Biden as a traitor, sparking speculations and debate about the authenticity of the document in question.

The document references a 1994 letter written to Joe Biden which read, "Dear Sen Biden: You are a traitor..." then notes that it bears the signature "John F. Kennedy Jr."

Several social media users took to platforms such as Musk's X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their opinions about the speculations.

An X user wrote, "So JFK warned that Biden was a traitor. and then he was killed? think a lot of the so-called “conspiracy theories” won’t be “conspiracies” much longer."

Another added, "Shout out to @RobertKennedyJr for standing on principle, knowing now that JFK Jr. also called Joe Biden a traitor to America."

Fact-checking website PolitiFact debunked the social media claims, confirming that JFK Jr. did not write the letter but it was an impersonator of him instead.

PolitiFact published the article in 2020, noting that the "FBI dismissed it as a hoax," as Steven M. Gillon, a professor of history at the University of Oklahoma and the author of Kennedy's recent biography, stated.

Once a prominent figure in US politics, JFK Jr. who was the son of 35th US President John F. Kennedy passed away on Jul. 16, 1999, at only 38, due to a pilot error while on board a plane.

His late father, John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 during his visit to Dallas, Texas, and new files about his assassination were recently released.

According to AP, more than 63,000 pages of the files in question were released on orders from current US President Donald Trump.
