Horrifying video: UPS plane crash leaves 7 dead in Louisville, Kentucky

ALBAWABA - A horrifying video of a UPS cargo plane crash has flooded social media, capturing the moment it crashed into flames shortly after takeoff from Louisville, Kentucky. 

According to USA Today, the incident left at least seven people dead and multiple others injured. Just after takeoff, the right wing of the UPS cargo plane caught fire, resulting in an explosion.

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg revealed that among those who died were three crew members and four others who were not on board the plane. Additionally, a public officer at the Louisville airport said that 11 people were injured and were transferred to local hospitals.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said on Tuesday that "Anybody who has seen the images in the video knows how violent this crash is," while adding further that he expects the death toll to rise.

The Federal Aviation Administration stated that UPS Flight 2976 crashed at Muhammad Ali International Airport, and hundreds of firefighters were deployed to the scene to contain the massive fire. The statement outlined that the plane was en route to Honolulu.

While an investigation is still underway, 28 people from the NTSB were sent to the incident to probe the reason behind the fatal accident.
