ALBAWABA - Horrific scenes are still emerging from Libya showing the aftermath of Storm Daniel which killed thousands. A video emerged online showing a building collapsing in Libya while residents were heard screaming inside.

The footage, which was believed to have been taken in Derna city that suffered the most from Storm Daniel, shows floods filling the streets and damaging buildings.

Families, who were stuck inside the 7-storey building were heard screaming loudly hoping to get help, however, the whole building collapsed in a few seconds and was driven away by floods.

No news was known about the building and the residents inside. The Interim Prime Minister of Libya Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh said that hundreds of bodies have disappeared and were driven into the sea due to buildings' collapse and heavy floods.

Hundreds of comments were posted online as people were shocked by the footage and praying to God to have mercy on the Libyan people.

A person from Morocco, which suffered a powerful earthquake on Friday night killing thousands of people, reaffirmed their support to the residents of Libya over disasters caused by Storm Daniel.

According to Libyan statistics, 10,000 people are still missing after "floodwaters from Storm Daniel smashed through dams and washed away entire neighbourhoods".
