ALBAWABA - A video went viral online sparking massive debate after many claimed it was taken from a Halloween party in Egypt.
The video showed people allegedly partying and dancing to music at a Halloween festival in one of the cities in Egypt.
Halloween is celebrated as it was believed that on that day, the souls of the dead returned to their homes, so people dressed in costumes and lit bonfires to ward off spirits.
Usually, people on Halloween wear different scary customs, attend parties and scare each other. Meanwhile, kids knock on doors wearing cute customs of their favourite characters to receive candy.
In Islam, celebrating Halloween or attending Halloween parties is prohibited as it is considered Polytheism (Shirk) due to the devilish practices, according to Bayan Al Quran Academy.
The footage was allegedly said to be taken in Egypt showing people dancing to music at a Halloween party sparking controversy.
Some people debated the Halal statue of celebrating Halloween saying that such parties should not take place in a Muslim country.
However, others said that considering the harsh conditions people in Gaza are living under the Israeli aggressive attacks, all kinds of parties should be canceled until further notice.
On the other hand, many claimed that this is an old video taken from a summer party in Egypt and has nothing to do with Halloween.
