ALBAWABA - An old video of Layla Abdel Latif has resurfaced on social media amid the ongoing visit of US President Donald Trump to Saudi Arabia.

Donald Trump landed in Saudi Arabia on May 13 in his first official foreign visit since re-taking office in January 2025. He will spend three days visiting Riyadh, Qatar and the UAE.

During the Saudi-US Economic Forum in Riyadh, Trump announced that his administration has decided to lift sanctions imposed on Syria, following discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Did Layla Abdel Latif predict the Trump-al-Sharaa meeting?

Today, US President Donald Trump met with Syria's interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa in Riyadh on Wednesday. Then, they joined a larger meeting with GCC leaders and delegations in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

About a month ago, Layla Abdel Latif appeared in an interview with Lebanese TV show host Tony Khalife, where she spoke about a possible meeting between the US president and the new Syrian leader.

In the interview, Layla Abdel Latif said: "We'll hear about exchanged American-Syrian messages that will link between Donald Trump and the new Syrian Interim President, Ahmed al-Sharaa." She also added that Saudi Arabia will be the hosting country of a possible face-to-face meeting between al-Sharaa and a high-ranking American official, who could possibly be Trump himself.
