ALBAWABA- A verbal dispute at a mourning gathering in Dhamar province, central Yemen, escalated into deadly gunfire, claiming the lives of three individuals and injuring two others.

The incident occurred in the Al-Mawahib area, Dhamar City District, and has left the local community reeling.

According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began during the gathering and quickly turned violent. Those killed have been identified as Mahmoud Ali Saleh Tunaih, Khaled Ali Alawi Tunaih, and Mahmoud Ali Saleh Tunaih. 

The injured victims are Moayad Mohammed Ahmed and Zubair Mohammed Hussein.

Security reports indicate that the first party, led by Mahmoud Ali Saleh Tunaih and others from Al-Bayda province, initiated the attack by opening fire on Abdullah Abdullah Ahmed Al-Mudsam, 53 years old, Moayad Mohammed Ahmed Al-Shatty Al-Qadhi, 18 years old and Zubair Mohammed Hussein Qarmous, 18 years old.

The attack resulted in the death of Abdullah and moderate injuries to Moayad and Zubair.

In retaliation, members of Al-Mawahib village fired back at the attackers, killing Mahmoud Ali Saleh Taneeh, 66 years old, and Khaled Ali Alawi Taneeh, 45 years old. Both men were residents of Riyashiya District in Al-Bayda province.
