ALBAWABA - Since the start of the war between Iran, the United States and Israel, multiple theories justifying the reason behind the spark of the tension have been made by social media users, with some linking the war on Iran with the Epstein Files.

On Feb. 28, Israel and the United States announced a preemptive attack on Iran. On Saturday morning, a large wave of airstrikes and missile attacks hit multiple Iranian cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, and Kermanshah, targeting military bases, air-defense systems, missile launchers, and government facilities.

The attack on the leadership compounds in Tehran led to the killing of high-ranking Iranian government personnel and senior military officials, in addition to the death of the country's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.

Are the Epstein Files behind the war on Iran?

Conspiracy theories emerged online, with many people sharing unconfirmed reports about the reason behind the Israeli-American war on Iran, some allegedly linking it to American sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In late January, the U.S. Department of Justice shared 3 million documents and thousands of photos and videos related to the financier, who is involved in sex trafficking scandals, causing chaos after the leak of thousands of emails linking high-profile people to the sex offender.

Many social media activists and anti-Trump accounts said that the U.S. President is using the conflict to distract from the Epstein files. An X user allegedly said that Donald Trump is listed in the infamous files, and to avoid being exposed to the public and being impeached, he started a war in Iran.

Democrat politician Graham Platner said, "Nobody wants this war. They know what it’s actually about. This is a war being pushed by Benjamin Netanyahu. He’s been trying to make this war happen for almost 30 years. This war is also being pushed because Donald Trump is in the Epstein Files."

A person said, "All about diverting attention from Epstein Files.  For certain!"

Another theory claimed that leaders who want to sell more weapons and become richer have ignited the war. One commented, "Well they'll all get Richer from their Weapons investments like they always do as well."

Meanwhile, following the attack on Iran, protesters gathered in New York against the US-Israeli war on Tehran, with demonstrators rejecting the use of their tax dollars to fuel more instability in the Middle East.
