In a viral video, Egyptian activist Zein Rahma confronted CNN journalist Clarissa Ward about her coverage of the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict.
The confrontation arose when Ward disseminated a report that allegedly contained false information, following skepticism towards a video depicting the journalist laying in a fearful position on Israel's border with Gaza, which was claimed to be fabricated. Rahma accused Ward and CNN of complicity in fueling the war and absolving Israel of accountability for war crimes, decades-long occupation, ethnic cleansing, displacement of native Palestinians, and recent attacks on innocent Palestinian civilians.
Rahma further expressed her frustration with perceived western media bias, highlighting how major outlets continue to propagate Israeli narratives while obscuring the reality of Israeli assaults on Gaza and the West Bank over the past two weeks.
The footage was taken on October 20, 2023 at the Egypt-Palestine border, where hundreds of protesters marched to demand the opening of Rafah border and the urgent need for delivery of crucial humanitarian aid to Palestine.
