Security forces in Yemen have arrested in the last few days two suspected members of Al-Qaeda in Yemen, the military-run 26 sep.net reported on Monday. The website quoted security sources as saying that Ahmed Ali Homran and Abdul-Adhim al-Hitar arrested in Sana'a. The two were wanted by the security service in several cases.
According to sources, the two persons were also accused of providing and concealing an al-Qeada member, who escaped from a prison in Sana'a in February 2006. The sources denied press reports indicated that the two arrested persons were preparing to implement a suicide operation.
The sources confirmed that the arrest of the two al-Qaeda members came after the monitoring and follow-up by security forces.
Meanwhile, six soldiers were injured while bombs targeted two checkpoints in Hadramout governorate, a security source conveyed to Saba on Sunday. The source added that the investigation are underway to know circumstances of the incident.
