Israel bombs Lebanon
Smoke rises from the site of a string of Israeli airstrikes that targeted the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh on June 20, 2026. Lebanese official media said fresh Israeli strikes on the country's south on June 20 killed five people, despite a new ceasefire between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah group announced a day earlier. ALBAWABA - As the US and Iran are convening talks in Geneva, Israel continues to jeopardize the fragile peace by bombing Lebanon non-stop since March.

Mohammad Mokhber, the former acting president of Iran and advisor to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, has said in an X post that “Americans understand the language of economics and cost-benefit analysis better.”

“If the agreement remains only ink on paper, energy supplies from the Middle East will stop flowing. Our negotiators will accept nothing less than the full implementation of commitments and the realization of the nation’s rights.” - Mohammad Mokhber on X

The statements come as conflicting reports and point of views emerge from Iran regarding the deal with the U.S. With Iranian MP Nabavian trashing the U.S. deal on Iranian national TV, stating that the Supreme Leader wasn’t approving of it and that Qalibaf and Araqchi are ignoring him and acting of their own accord.

More details and information are expected to emerge regarding the situation as the two parties continue their talks in Geneva.
