Yemen's embattled President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi is expected to name a vice-president soon, a Yemeni presidential source said Sunday.
"Hadi has already chosen a vice-president and will issue a presidential decree for his appointment in the coming hours," the source told The Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity.
Hadi fled to Riyadh last month after the Shiite Houthi group attacked his residence in Yemen's southern city of Aden, where he had hoped to reinstate his beleaguered presidency.
Saudi Arabia and several Arab allies have launched a military campaign against the Houthis across Yemen since March 25.
Riyadh says its anti-Houthi campaign comes in response to Hadi's appeals to "save the [Yemeni] people from the Houthi militias."
The Houthis, for their part, have described the Saudi-led offensive as unwarranted "Saudi-American aggression" against Yemen.
Yemen has remained in turmoil since last September, when the Houthis overran capital Sanaa, from which they have sought to extend their influence farther afield.
Some Gulf States accuse Shiite Iran of supporting Yemen's Houthi insurgency.
