Yemen's ambassador to the USA, Abdulwahhab Al-Hajri, has denied that he attended a reception in honor of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in Washington last week, reported the weekly Yemen Times on Monday.
The opposition mouthpiece newspaper, Al-Thawri, reported last week that Hajri attended the party, said the weekly.
“Such reports could be an infringement of Yemen's foreign policy, which refuses normalization with Israel,” Hajri told the weekly.
“I was surprised to read an article saying that I was listed among participants in the party boycotted by all Arab ambassadors to the United States,” he added.
Meanwhile, a Yemeni official source accused Israel of “this false propaganda which aimed at tarnishing the image of Yemen and its stand vis-avis the Palestinian cause.” – Albawaba.com
